Vacancies

Summer House is a small, beautiful home-based childcare setting a few steps away from Wimbledon Park tube in London. The vast majority of the parents that find us do so by word of mouth and recommendations from current and past parents.

If we do not have a place for your little one, we highly recommend “Club Creche” in Southfields. Club Creche has been operating since 2012 and is owned and managed by the lovely Mel (Melonie Salam). Club Creche offers part time, full time and ad-hoc places for part or full days. Even if you are on a waiting list for our place or another setting, please contact Mel at melonie@clubcreche.co.uk to check availability. www.clubcreche.co.uk

Update:  26 August 2026

We are very often full. We have a Waiting List for a possible small number of places that may come up over the next 12 months, however most diary changes tend to happen in July to early September, with on occasion (but not always) 1 or 2 places arising in December/January or March/April. We receive 2 months notice from our current parents of places arising. Sometimes we might have an idea of places coming up with more than 2 months notice, as we encourage our current parents to let us know their plans. Please be aware that despite there being no fee to join our waiting list, we may decide to not take deposits until 2 months before the start date, i.e. we will not offer a place until we are sure one is arising. We will however keep in touch with you if you are very close to the top of the waiting list and we will be honest about your chances of securing a place.

If you are interested in securing a place at Summer House, please do register your interest with us, by completing the details contained within this link.

We aim to arrange visits / tours no more than three times per year. These take place most often towards the end of the Spring, Summer and Autumn terms (e.g. Feb/Mar, Jun/Jul and possibly Oct/Nov).

When places arise (e.g. due to children moving to pre-school nursery, parents going on maternity leave, or a family moving out of the area), we advertise only on this website. This is because the vast majority of all of new parents find us because past and current parents have recommended us to their friends.

There is a natural change in the diary in September each year, so most places arise during the months from July to early September. Sometimes a place may arise around December / January and again in the spring time (parents are required to give 2 months notice). Many of our current parents go on to have second children and so available places go to current children and siblings as a priority. If a parent is very keen on our setting then the best way to secure a place is simply by keeping an eye on this website or emailing every so often to re-register your continued interest. We try to reply to all enquiries but often times we have so many it can be hard to keep on top of this – so please accept our apologies if we do not reply straight away. We do keep all emailed enquiries and will get back to you if an unexpected vacancy arises which matches or is similar to your requirements, in terms of the number of days and the month in which, it may be required.
